Keith Jones, a 2003 graduate of New Egypt High School, just started anchoring NBC10 News Today.
Jones can be seen with co-anchor Lori Wilson on channel 10 from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. every weekday morning. He grew up in the New Egypt section of Plumsted Township, where his family still resides.
Jones joined NBC10 Philadelphia earlier this month. In addition to anchoring, he files reports for NBC10 News. He previously worked for WTAE, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, Pa., and WHSV in Harrisonburg, Va. WHSV received the “Best Morning News Show” award from the Virginia Association of Broadcasters while he anchored and reported there. His news coverage has included the dedication of the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, the 2010 Pennsylvania governor’s race, and the trial of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, according to NBC10 Philadelphia.
Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and minored in philosophy and journalism at Villanova University. He interned in the NBC10 sports department when he was younger and served as one of the team managers for the Villanova Wildcats basketball team. He also plays the piano and the guitar, according to NBC10 Philadelphia.
